As more and more shells in your fleet go the fancy rigger route and grow wings, you might find yourself with some ungainly piles of space-hogging frames underfoot whenever the shells are unrigged. Luckily, we spotted a hack for that: The Wing Hanger.
We caught this Rowing Hack doing admirable wing-storing work at the Camden County Boathouse on the Cooper: instead of tripping over their wing riggers, these folks picked up some ladder hanging brackets at the local big box hardware store and quickly got their wings up off the floor and out of the way.
Finding a fix you don't need to fabricate yourself is at the heart of any good hack, and these brackets--which you can also find called "padded arm hangers"--are rated for 50 pounds each, so they can easily hold the four wings that fit on them, assuming you securely mount each hanger to the wall.
Lots of boathouses store side-mounted riggers by hanging them over a bar, but that trick does not work as well for the longer wing riggers that don't really have an acute angle to hang from--wings are a bit obtuse after all, at least in the angle department.
Having a horizontal bracket like these makes hanging wings a breeze, and you could still use them for those old school riggers, so this hack could be an upgrade for all your rigger-frame-stowing needs.
These Wing Hangers work really well with sculling wings, since they are symmetrical and weighted evenly, and that is how we saw them used in Camden, but if you mounted the hangers wide enough, you could fit the long arm of a sweep wing across the hangers and get a secure hang for those as well (as you can see, if you take a close look, at the top of today's second photo).
Or, put hangers up a bit narrower and use them for your slings:
